SAINT PAUL, MN–July 31, 2017 – The Board of Directors of Endurance United today announced that Andrew Poffenberger is departing the organization to continue his education. Andrew has been on-board since May 2015 and has made a big impact during that time. His passion for the outdoors and cross-country skiing has been evident in everything he has done. He has been especially impactful growing the sport in two key areas--adult learn-to-ski and youth nordic skiing. He has also been the Race Director of our successful Urban Trail Series. Lastly, Andrew has been an organizer and facilitator in the conversation to bring snow-making to the east-metro. He will be missed. Andrew plans on staying in the area and staying connected to EU.
“I am saddened to announce that I will be leaving Endurance United after the Bluff Tuff Half Marathon, at the end of August. I am extremely grateful for the opportunity to lead EU. I have always felt support and encouragement. Over the past few months I took some time to look at my long-term goals and realized that getting my Masters Degree is the path I want to pursue. While I will not be entering a Master’s program immediately, the load of prerequisite courses and relevant work experience needed to be a competitive candidate for Physicians Assistant school will take a full-time commitment for the next year. I have every confidence that the organization will continue to thrive on a current wave of momentum.” -Andrew Poffenberger
EU President, Mike Brown, said “It has been my pleasure to work with Andrew these past couple of years. I am excited for him as he transitions to a new chapter of this life. I hope to see him on the trail, as a participant of a EU event and maybe even as a special guest coach from time to time. Cheers to you, Andrew!”
