TRAIL KIDS Fall TRAINING

TRAIL KIDS teaches youth ages 8-13 outdoor literacy and a connection to nature through activities like mountain biking, trail running, orienteering, and paddling in the Spring, Summer and Fall, and cross country skiing in the winter.

Mountain Biking/Trail Running/Rollerskiing

Dates: 9.10.17 - 11.5.17
Cost:  $130 for both sessions, $70 for either mountain biking/trail running or roller skiing (see below for details)
 


MOuntain Biking/Trail Running

Dates: 9.10.17-10.1.17

Where: Battle Creek Rec Center, Carver Lake Park

When: Sundays - 2:30pm - 4:00pm

What: During the first four weeks of the fall session we will focus on mountain biking and trail running each session.  The mountain bike portion will focus on technique while the trail running portion will be focused on strength and fitness.  Mountain bike skills will grow for all abilities in a fun outdoor environment.  As a team, participants can choose to complete a mountain bike race (Big Woods Classic at Lake Rebecca on 9.24.17) and/or a trail run (Night Light Trail Run 5K at Battle Creek on 10.14.17).  

Equipment: Bring your mountain bike and running shoes. 


Rollerskiing

Dates: 10.8.17-11.5.17(no class 10.22.17)

Where: Battle Creek Water Park

When: Sundays - 2:30pm - 4:00pm

What: Roller skiing technique sessions as the winter season draws near.  Ski specific balance drills and games in preparation to jump on your skis when the snow arrives.  Suitable for all ability levels.

Equipment: Participants will need to provide their own rollerskis, poles, boots helmet and water bottle for rollerski nights. Contact us if you do not currently own rollerskis. Rollerblades are an acceptable substitute for this age group.
