TRAIL KIDS Fall TRAINING
TRAIL KIDS teaches youth ages 8-13 outdoor literacy and a connection to nature through activities like mountain biking, trail running, orienteering, and paddling in the spring, summer and fall; then moving into cross country skiing throughout the winter.
Mountain Biking & Rollerskiing
Coaches: Liza Dawley (rollerskiing)
Dates: Mondays starting September 9th (mtn. bike) & Sundays starting October 6th (rollerski)
Dates: Sept 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th
Where: Battle Creek Rec Center
When: Mondays, 4:45-6:15pm
What: During the first four weeks of the fall session we will focus on mountain biking. Mountain bike skills will grow for all abilities in a fun outdoor environment.
Equipment: A safe and well maintained bike is required for the best experience for the rider. Front suspension and disc brakes are beneficial, but not required. And, of course, a helmet! Endurance United does not supply participants with mountain bikes.
Dates: Oct. 6th, 13th, 27th, Nov. 3rd (skipping Oct. 20 MEA weekend)
Where: Battle Creek Water Park
When: Sundays, 2:30-4:00pm
What: Trail kids will learn rollerskiing technique as the winter season draws near. Ski specific balance drills and games in preparation to jump on your skis when the snow arrives. Suitable for all ability levels.
Equipment: Participants will need to provide their own rollerskis, poles, boots, helmet, and water bottle for rollerski sessions. Contact us if you do not currently own rollerskis. Rollerblades are an acceptable substitute for this age group.
