EU Skiwerx Fall Program
What is Endurance United Skiwerx ?
Endurance United is an affiliated program of MyXC, focused on providing excellent Nordic skiing programming. EU Skiwerx is for active kids ages 9-14 that want to learn a variety of training skills (speed, strength, endurance, flexibility) to help them become successful and happy endurance athletes in the future. The overall objectives of the program are to assist children in the development of a love of the outdoors, a healthy lifestyle, excellent Nordic technical skills and a good level of physical fitness within a sport environment.
The Endurance United Fall Skiwerx program is a two session per week evening program that involves both rollerskiing and dryland (on foot) sessions. This fall we will be offering two separate sessions at the same time at two different locations: Phalen Regional Park and Battle Creek Waterpark. Young skiers will learn safety on rollerskis, basic rollerski skills, and will have through creative games and practices that engage young skiers.
Highlights of program
*A team atmosphere focused on building community for athletes with a shared interest in Nordic Skiing who support and encourage the goals of all members. Introducing athletes to ski culture and providing resources for their further advancement in skiing, either competitively or staying active for life.
*Workouts focus on fun and include a variety of speed work, agility drills, strength and flexibility, endurance training as well as plenty of games!
*Formal and ongoing curriculum development specific to age group.
*Each group has a dedicated and certified coach with prior coaching/collegiate racing experience. Ratio of 1:9.
Requirements
We will need to meet a minimum of 6 people signed up for each session program to be able to run them.
*Age 9 as of December 31st.
*Skiers need to have their own helmet, rollerskis, boots, poles. Marwe combi rollerskis are recommended. EU has a limited number of rollerskis available for seasonal rent; $30 for Fall season.
New to roller skiing?
If you athlete is new to roller skiing, no worries! We offer a complementary learn to roller ski session before the fall season begins for all Fall participants.
